Cheonggyecheon runs through central Seoul with walking paths below street level. Start near Cheonggye Plaza for a shorter stroll, or choose entry and exit points that fit the other places in your itinerary.
Stay out of the stream paths during heavy rain or access restrictions. Check where stairs and ramps are located and decide where to finish rather than assuming you will walk the whole route.
Gyeongbokgung brings together royal halls, painted eaves and broad courtyards behind Gwanghwamun Gate. Explore the palace grounds before continuing into Seochon or Bukchon for a different view of central Seoul.
Four Seasons Hotel Seoul is in Jongno, near Gwanghwamun and Gyeongbokgung. Its location is worth comparing with other accommodation if palace visits and walks through central Seoul are a priority for your trip.
Gwanghwamun is the main gate of Gyeongbokgung, facing the streets and square of central Seoul. Take in the palace frontage before walking toward Gwanghwamun Square or Seochon.
